“Do you really have to do this right now? Baby, we about to go to the club,” I said, sucking my teeth, as I walked out of the bathroom in our hotel suite and watched Abdulla sniff coke up his nose.

At the end of the day, he was grown and could pretty much make his own decisions, but I hated the way he acted when he was high on coke. That’s usually when he started acting so fuckin’ demanding. The last time, when I got my ass beat, he was high off it too. We had been back on good terms for two months, and so far, everything had been good between us.

I liked when Abdulla apologized to me in one-hundred-dollar bills, so for the past two months, that’s pretty much all I’ve been having him do. He was breaking so much money off on me that he had no choice but to keep his ass in the studio, making hit after hit and continuing to attend these bookings that he had scheduled.

With Abdulla, I’ll admit that it wasn’t even just about the money with him. I was older now and making my own money, so any money that I got from him was just extra. Back when I was younger, of course, I had the mindset of wanting to be with Rodney because of the money that I knew he was going to have. At the time, I didn’t know any damn better. Although Abdulla comes with a lot of baggage, he and I have a lot in common, and we just click. That’s why I can’t seem to leave him, even if I wanted to.

“Yeah, baby. Come do it with me,” he said, pulling me by my towel onto his lap.

Since I’ve known about Abdulla doing coke, of course, he would try to get me to indulge in it with him because that’s what people who do drugs tend to do, but no matter what, I always said no. I knew what coke did to people. I grew up in Miami, and I’ve been down to the nitty-gritty parts of Miami where I’ve witnessed crackheads give this drug their all. It was people that I knew personally, and I witnessed this drug just take complete control of their body, so coke was something that I didn’t care to engage in. I’ll smoke a little weed here and there and sip a little Actavis, but for the most part, that was really all I indulged in.

“No, Abdulla! I’m not doing this shit, and you shouldn’t be doing it either. Come on, now! You got a performance tonight, and we don’t need you going on stage all high and shit. I’m the only one who knows you do this bullshit! Imagine if your fans found the shit out too!” I snapped, hitting the hundred-dollar bill that he had folded and had coke in the middle.

I even knocked down the rest of the powdery substance off the table. I could see in his face that he was pissed, but he knew that I was doing it for his own good.
